Book Review: Blood of Olympus

Book review Term 4

Title of book: Blood of Olympus	Author of book: Rick Riordan
Fiction or non fiction: Fiction with some truth.
What was the story (Or Chapter) about? (Don’t give away the ending!)- Think about the main events	Choose one main character and complete a Character summary for them.
It's a continue of hero's of Olympus series and it's the 5th book. Those who haven't read the series, It has Percy Jackson and His friends. After the Percy Jackson series, Jason,Piper, Leo, Hazel, Frank, Annabeth and Percy are on a quest to defeat the earth Goddess gaia. Meanwhile Reyna, Nico and Coach Hedge are on a quest of their own. They have to try and get the Athena Parthenos back to camp Half-Blood to try and make peace between the Romans and the Greeks.	Piper Mclean Piper may seem like the charming girl she looks like. It doesn't help that she is the Daughter of the Goddess of love… Her dad was captured… Her boyfriend doesn't remember anything about her and she even stole or “Borrowed” A BMW When she lived with her dad! Apparently she “Talked” The car dealer into giving her the car. She found out that the “Talk” Is really charm speak. Compared to the other 7 (Apart from Percy and Annabeth) She had a tough life!
What was your favourite part in the book? Why was this your favourite part?	Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why? Why not?
My favourite part would be when they went into the temple of nike, they were joking about shoes.... “Hey, Would nike be angry if we walked into her temple with addidas shoes on?” Frank said. “Yeah, THOSE ARE NOT THE OFFICIAL SHOES OF THE OLYMPICS… YOU SHALL DIE NOW!” Leo joked. “YOU SHALL DIE NOW!” Screamed nike…	Depends which friend you're talking about. I would recommend it to people who like Greek mythology or fiction based on truth. But before you read this book you have to read the other four books in the series. Overall a great book and if you like greek stuff or just fiction and war in general I recommend it to you!

Results...

We recently had a maths & reading test, and out results were amazing!

For maths we did statistics- I was at the national standard, and got a 4P...
The thing I need to work on next would probably be: Rotating and turning shapes.

For reading- I was way above the national standard, And got a 5B!
The thing I need to work on is: Understanding the text and why the author wrote it.

Manga High progress

So, for Manga High We were assigned challenges by Mr Murray and Mr V and we had to complete them in a week. When I was on my chromebook at home, all I did was do maths. I have managed to get 6 gold medals and i'm working on my last at the moment, in which was I have only gotten a bronze.

Where am I at?

I am currently a 5A in writing and I am above the National Standard. I have been working on my ideas for writing and the hard work paid off! One of the many things I got for acheived was my ideas.

Why am I here?

Last year this was was in to be achieved and this year it is in my achieved box!

Where to next?

The main thing I need to work on is my sentence structure and this will be my next step.

Where am I at?

I am just above the National Standard at the moment as a 4A! One of my acheived strengths is to use important information to show understanding.

Why am I here?

Last year I was a 4P and I was just below the National Standard and this was one of my weaknesses.

Where to next?

I am going to try select accurate and logical information by reading carefully in the text and going back to find the true facts.

My Maths Goals for term 3

Where am I at?

In maths I need to work on a lot of things. I am a level 4B in maths and I am just below the National Standard. The one thing I am doing well in though is find a fraction or percentage of an amount.

Why am I here?

To do this you need a to know about fractions. That is what I have been trying to improve on in the last couple of years.

Where to next?

The one thing I need to improve on though is explain the meaning of negative numbers. To help me with this task I will look at positive numbers, and then subtract so many so I get a negative number. After I do this I will explain how I got this number so I can get a better understanding of negative numbers.

A preview of some of my books: The way of fairy tales.

Ok, I’m not going to start with one of those cheesy once upon a time or my name is. I'm just going to put it out there: My life is a misery, yep you heard me, my life is a misery. You know my life wasn't always like this, oh no, it all started 5 years ago, when I was 6, that makes me 11 if you did the math. My baby brother was just born. You know how babies are always so cute when they’re little, well my brother like most babies was so cute and chubby and now five years later he is the miserable he who must not be named!  And my parents well they think little poo bum is so cute and all the trouble he gets into I get blamed on. And when I don't get blamed on the carnage my brother blames it on the cat. And do my parents believe this madness? Yes they do. Oh and my brothers name doesn't help the matter, his name is William Lommanora. Yep so cute that nobody blames him for anything. Even at the age of 5 he doesn't get blamed for anything and when I was 5 that says a lot. Well I got blamed for what the cat did, For example poo on the carpet. But enough about the menace and more about me. Well since William is a Loomanora that makes me a Loomanora too. So hi I’m Bazil Loomanora and there you have it living proof that I’m related to this little brat. My hobbies? Well it’s uh a bit boring for normal humans, I like reading, playing video games, reading, going on my laptop, reading and more reading. There you have it told ya it was boring.

Well you may think by seeing my hobbies that I have no friend or a life, but ha you thought wrong. I do have a few friends, ok im exaggerating but I do have a couple of friends and their awesome they come with me on all of my adventures. Oops now I’m going to have to tell you my secret..

Wesley intermediate swimming sports

Wesley intermediate swimming sports 2015!

It was a cloudy, but hot day at the Wesley intermediate swimming sports. All the four houses lined up and cheering as loud as they could for everyone who participated in the events. Mr V was the DJ and Mrs Dunne and Mrs cooper taking all the placings and Mr Murray was telling everyone when to start the race with his wooden clappers. There were 4 individual races and there were 2 relays and 3 fun races for the jelly fish, otters and sharks.

“Could all the year seven boys please go line up for freestyle one length” said Mr V through the microphone.

All the houses were cheering as the boys who were participating in that event went and lined up next to Mr ball. It felt like seconds before the boys all reached the end of the lanes and either came first, second, third or fourth in the event. finally all the boys were finished and the year seven girls were called up to go line up next to Mr ball, then the year eight boys and finally the year eight girls including me! I was part of the first lot of girls swimming.

We all lined up and it felt like minutes and all I could hear was my heart beating and then the clapper. I was so puffed before I reached the end of the lane and I came second! It was like that for most of the races I was in. All I could think was third, second. third, second, those words just repeated in my mind. Then I wondered would I ever get first?

Then it was time for the class relays. Mr V called up people class by class, then finally he called up room nine to swim. There were two people on each side of the pool. I was on one end selena on the other, Faa’sua on Selena's end and then Jade on mine. 3. 2. 1. and we were off, Selena was racing so fast and before I knew it she was right next to me shouting GO! I wasn't a fast swimmer but man I was so desperate to get out of the water. I swam as fast as I could and I finally made it to the other side of the pool. The crowd was going wild. The it was Faa’sua swimming and then Jade! And room nine won the race! I think I proved myself wrong because we did come first!

It was an awesome day and even a little cold but the best swimming sports ever! Everyone was patting us on the back and saying congrats to us and the it was time for the house relays. It was Edinburgh, Windsor, Sandringham and Marlborough. I cheered for my house (a.k.a Edinburgh!) and the best news ever... WE WON! As I said the best day ever!

A fun day, cold day even a loud day but we all did our best in the end. I thought everyone did well and bring on next years swimming sports!
